This week, me and 5 classmates started a new project, the music marketing project. In this blog post I shall breakdown the processes we will and are taking to make the foundations of this project come to life
Each group of 4-6 people were assigned a genre to dedicate their project and research efforts to. We were assigned Bluegrass and country as our genre. We started by each doing separate research, helping us diversify our knowledge. Specifically, we each assigned to find 2 record labels and 2 artists for each that matches our assigned genre. It was important what we used current information so that our information could stay valid and have actual purpose in today’s world. Because of this, we could only use information from the past 5 years and artist's who have made some music in that timeframe.
When it came to specifics in our researching, we kept out information meaningful by incorporating modern trends in marketing and distribution for the corresponding artist's that we researched about. Wile we used allot of verified websites to get our information. I personally found that using a little bit of artificial intelligence proved to be very effective in breaking down large website text into simple easy to digest information that I could then use to better understand the information. After we finished our research, we were left with the question on what of 3 songs would we end up using for our project. After much debate we reached an agreement to pick the song “Cold” by Chris Stapleton. After we reached this conclusion we started working on our chart as shown bellow.
With this chart, we now have an organized plan on what we want to do for each day that we have to complete this project. At the end of the day this will result in a likely significant increase in or efficiency and help us be able to do more of our own thing wile minimizing for communications between our group which can introduce unnecessary complexities to our workflow.
